Ida Marko Varga

“I have a huge amount of respect for people who strive to improve, people that put 100 % into what they are doing and who surrender themselves to the task. Spending time with people like this brings me a great deal of pleasure and gives me a huge kick. I am grateful to have the privilege of working with such people. Talent and optimal conditions aren’t the most important – instead it’s enthusiasm, perseverance, ambition, the will to train and humility. It’s a question of making the most of what you have and the fact that everyone can improve regardless of shortcomings, as long as you work with yourself and strive to make progress!"     Igor Ardoris

”Since I started mental training with Igor I have been able to discover many positive sides of myself that I didn’t know I had. The mental training has also helped me to realize that the path to the goal is just as important as the goal itself. Although I have never had problems competing, I have found it difficult to enjoy life as a whole. I now feel that life is full of possibilities and have more self-confidence outside the sport. Igor has put the pleasure back into swimming.”

"Igor helped me to control my nervousness and breathing before important matches, tests and stressful situations. I felt I needed help to focus when the puck was released, since ice hockey is a fast and intensive sport. Although I became a better player as a result of Igor’s help, I also started to realize that ice hockey didn’t give me enough pleasure to dedicate my life to it. Igor helped me to make the decision to start studying. I am very grateful for his help as I am really happy here at Long Island and my grades are better than ever. Nervousness is no longer a problem as I now know how to tackle it, both on the ice and at school.”
Exercises, "I put a lot of time into deep relaxation and breathing control using the audio programme that Igor gave me. The best thing was that it only took 30 minutes a day to achieve fantastic results. If you want control of your mind and you want to develop either within sport, school and work or sport and, above all, as a person, then Igor is your man!”

"Fighting is a very stressful sport. My previous matches were characterized by a fast pace and a few techniques that had become second nature to me. They were more a question of quantity than quality, and the fact that I won could be put down to my fitness and furious pace.
Fighting purposefully, but relaxed enough to have access to my entire range of techniques, having the composure to see what the other person was doing and being able to meet my opponent with timing felt very remote. The fact that I was so tense reduced the standard of my techniques and quickly drained me of energy.
Igor’s mental training has given me an understanding of composure, focus, relaxation and breathing, enabling me to fight at a level which had previously seemed impossible. When I start to feel nervous I can use centred breathing as a tool to slow down my pulse and find composure. In my last match I surprised both my trainer and my opponent with technical qualities that had never been evident before. My training has also improved now that I find it easier to focus. I might not be a full-fledged fighter, but now I know that I am capable of improving.”
